Lucerne Switzerland

As one of Europe's most-toured towns, it's a wonder Lucerne Switzerland manages to retain all of its charm. Lucerne Switzerland is located only an hour south of Basel and Zurich. It boasts of lake cruises, magnificent mountain views and a picturesque old quarter.

Lido, Lucerne Switzerland

Question: Where can you find a sandy beach in Lucerne Switzerland? There's only one answer: Lido, Lucerne.

On the shores of the beautiful Lake of Lucerne, a sandy strip of beach awaits you. A stroll from the city up to the Lido will take about 20 minutes and you can get a glimpse of the gorgeous lake with stunning views of Mt. Pilatus. In addition to the beach, there are also beautiful green lawns and an elegant outdoor restaurant.

Mt. Rigi

Face it. The number one reason you can to Switzerland is for the scenery. And when you are at Lucerne Switzerland, the one place to go to get plenty of opportunities for delightful vistas is Mt. Rigi, the 'Queen of the Mountains.'

Here you can get grand views of the famous Swiss Alps and understand what Thomas Gray really meant when he declared in 1739, upon seeing the Swiss Alps, that 'there are certain scenes that would awe an atheist into belief.' Another prominent name who stood in awe of the Alpine vision is Hilaire Belloc who said, 'The great Alps link one in some way to one's immortality.'

Swiss Lion

If you like to shop, Lucerne Switzerland offers you the Swiss Lion in Loweplatz 11 in the city's downtown area. The area is just a little bit out of way of the main shopping center, which perhaps accounts for its lower rentals and better prices.

Shop to your heart's desire as you browse through the Swiss Lion's extensive range of goods from watches to knives and plenty more.

Morning Park

Lucerne Switzerland is an excellent setting for a long leisurely walk. With its many different parks and charming boulevards lined with tiny outdoors cafes, it's sheer bliss to talk a walk in this city that is infused with several different cultures and customs. Morning Park is a good place to spend your early mornings watching people from different walks of life go about their daily routines.
