The Costa Rica wildlife in these rescue centers are from a number of different sources. Some are people's pets that were obtained illegally or that they do not want to keep anymore. And while they are plentiful, most are actually harmless. Still, a word of advice, watch what you step on and check what you're clinging to. While most bites are harmless, these can be pretty painful nonetheless.
