The country's perfect climate and geography supports the habitat of the wide variety of Costa Rica wildlife. The 500,000 species of animals can be found in natural reserves all over the country. There are also Costa Rica wildlife rescues that guarantee a view of these exciting animals. It may be more thrilling to watch them in the wild, but seeing them doesn't happen with a snap of a finger. These animal sanctuaries for Costa Rica wildlife is also a great place to learn about the rainforest and its inhabitants from guides, volunteers, founders, and scientists who are all working with great fervor to keep these places going. You will discover the Costa Rica wildlife basics, like their habits, nature, and when or where it is best to spot them.

The Costa Rica wildlife in these rescue centers are from a number of different sources. Some are people's pets that were obtained illegally or that they do not want to keep anymore. Others are those who were picked up due to injury or were rescued from poachers. Some of these centers breed Costa Rica wildlife to improve those endangered population.

There are lodges that offer a tour and a getting-to-know party to Costa Rica wildlife. They are proud to introduce us to a variety of whales like the Humpback, Sperm, Killer and Bryde's. This animal is a strange-looking pig, but otherwise, they sort of smell the same.

Costa Rica wildlife also includes the different species of reptiles. The country has more than a fair share of snakes, crocodiles and iguanas. There have been reports about crocodile attacks in rivers, where people were cautioned but went in for a swim anyway. Snakes basically take up half of the entire reptile species. And while they are plentiful, most are actually harmless. Still, a word of advice, watch what you step on and check what you're clinging to.
